Wanaka has so many walks that offer amazing views and scenery. Here are just a few of the may walks in the area which can be guided or self-guided.

The Waterfall Creek and Eely Point to Albert Town are popular for biking, so why not hire mountain bikes to ride these scenic tracks.

 

Waterfall Creek  2 hours return

The track follows the lake shoreline around to Waterfall Creek.

  

Mount Iron Track  1.5 hours return

The summit provides panoramic views of the local area.

  

Eely Point – Beacon Point  15 minutes one way

This is a short walk beside the lake and ends at a popular picnicking and boating area as it is sheltered from the prevailing winds.

 

Beacon Point Walk – Lake Outlet Track   30 minutes one way

The track starts at Bremner Bay and follows the shoreline to Beacon Point providing great views of the lake and surrounding mountains.

  

Lake Outlet Track – Albert Town 1 hour one way

This track follows the Clutha River from Lake Wanaka to Albert Town.

  

Diamond Lake Track   2 to 3 hours loop

This figure 8 shaped track consists of 2 walks, both with superb panoramic outlooks. The views from here give the visitor an idea of how the glaciers of the Ice Ages carved and shaped the landscape.

 

Mount Roy   5 to 6 hours return

You will have a panoramic view from the top of this mountain. Most of Lake Wanaka can be seen, along with the awe-inspiring view of Mount Aspiring and the surrounding mountains and glaciers.

 

Rob Roy Valley & Glacier View   3 to 4 hours return

The valley offer an easy route into an area of spectacular alpine scenery including snowfields, glaciers, sheer rock cliffs and waterfalls.
